About GUSA
Ghana University Sports Association (GUSA) is an association that organises sporting activities for students in fifteen member institutions. The Association comprises fifteen public universities universities in Ghana. The fifteen institutions of GUSA have a total enrolment of over 480,000 students. The Association is guided by some important documents namely, constitution, strategic plan and an operational guide.
GUSA Council
The overall decision-making body of GUSA is the Council (General Assembly). It is composed of the following representation from each member institution: Head of sports management team, Registrar or Representative, all full-time sports coaches, and two student general sports secretaries (male and female). The GUSA Council is structured into the following key management units: Executive Committee, composed of elected members responsible for overall leadership; Technical Committee, which includes all sports coaches, with the Chairperson elected as a member of the Executive Committee; Committee for Development of Female Sports, consisting of all female Council members, with the Chairperson elected as a member of the Executive Committee; Student Committee, comprising all student members of the Council, with the leader chosen through an institutional rotation system; and Patrons, which includes all heads of member institutions, serving an advisory role. This structure ensures a balanced representation and effective management across all levels.

Welcome to the official website of the Ghana University Sports Association, GUSA for short. GUSA coordinates sporting activities of universities in Ghana, organises sports events and represents Ghana university students at international sporting events and competitions. Although we are based in Ghana, any Ghanaian student anywhere in the world can compete for GUSA. GUSA members are universities (both public and private). GUSA is committed to youth development through sports and I encourage you to contribute in any way possible to help this course. We are willing to partner with you to promote youth development through sports and to promote the image of Ghana through international events.
