The University for Development Studies (UDS) shall host the 25th Games of the Ghana University Sports Association (GUSA) from 4th-20th January 2018 in Tamale.

The games present a good opportunity for sports men and women from the public universities to engage in healthy hostilities in : football; athletics, volleyball; handball; basketball; netball; goalball; badminton; table tennis; tennis and beach volleyball.

The opening ceremony is scheduled for the 6th of January 2018 at the Tamale Sports Stadium and shall be graced by the Minister of Youth and Sports who is the Special Guest of Honour.

GUSA Games are organised biennially and hosted by a member institution on rotational basis. By this convention, UG shall be the host for the 26th GUSA Games in January 2020. The 24th GUSA Games was hosted by UEW in January 2016.

Until recently, GUSA Games served as a platform for the selection of national university team to participate in the African university games organised by the Federation of African University Sports (FASU). However, as a result of a change in policy by FASU, GUSA Games have become the centre stage for individual institutions to assess their strength and preparedness towards FASU Games.

GUSA wishes to invite the general public, particularly residents of the Tamale metropolis, to the 25th GUSA Games from the 4th-20th January 2018.
